Myrtle Beach, SC

Last week I drove to Myrtle Beach, SC, to spend a few days with Brittney, Sean and Finley, who flew there for the World’s Strongest Man competition. Unfortunately, the Strongman was a disappointment for Sean due to the lack of organization. There were no risers or any good ways to watch the events, and spectators were forced to stand on whatever they could find in hopes to see over the hordes of people (some brought step ladders for viewing). I felt bad for Sean but appreciated so much spending time with their little family, looking for shells and taking pictures on the beach, walking the boardwalk, shopping for souvenirs, swimming in the pools, and exploring and playing with Finn while Mom and Dad went on some actual dates. Our last night, Sean and Brittney treated me to a wonderful dinner at the Rustic Table in Pawleys Island, it was the ‘cherry on top’ of a great week!

Our hotel was super convenient to everything, just steps away from the boardwalk and beach

View from the front breezeway of our hotel, we were on the 7th floor

View from the side of our hotel

Views from our back patio looking right, straight back, and to the left…

Me enjoying some beach time to myself during one of Finn’s naps

The Strongman events were held at the main square (close to Pier 14) in downtown Myrtle Beach

We got a glimpse of Sean’s favorite Strongman, Brian Shaw, during one of his meet-and-greets. He spent a lot of time with his fans and signed autographs for hours! He just seemed like a big teddybear despite his 6’8″ 300 plus lb stature!

The main strip with all the shops and restaurants

The first time I went up to the Ripley’s tall-man display I was pushing Finley in the stroller and just about had a heart attack when the tall-man went from a sitting to a standing position (so I had to show Brittney how cool it was)

Our favorite souvenir shop was called The Gay Dolphin, and like the gorilla’s shirt says, it was very easy to get lost! The store had everything imaginable (and unimaginable) for sell. Brittney was such a great sport (even though she was completely exhausted from Finn not sleeping well at all in the hotel).

The Gay Dolphin Fountain!

Our delicious dinner and dessert from Rustic Table (Brittney & Sean were so nice to pay for my dinner…which wasn’t cheap!)

All About Finley

Myrtle Beach was great, but the main attraction by far (at least in my opinion), was Finley!

Mimi (me) bonding with Finley!

Finley loving the pool!

Finley not loving the ocean quite as much

Snug as a bug…

Mom, Dad, and Finn in the hotel room (with the amazing view behind them)

Finley hanging with Dad on the patio

Walking the Boardwalk

Another try in the ocean waves…

The best smile Finn could muster, after a long day at the beach!

Another stroll along the boardwalk with Momma & Mimi

The end of another exhausting day of fun in the sun!

Another day, another adventure, at the Strongest Man…

(Finn has the cutest little expressions!)

Finn keeping himself entertained with his feet!

Finley eating out at his second restaurant ever, and sitting up so “tall” in his big-kid high chair!

Who needs a teething ring when you have a table?!

Waiting so patiently for his next bite from Daddy

Finn and Sean bonding over their love of fine food!
