City of Bethlehem

Every year the Georgetown Methodist Church puts on, City of Bethlehem live nativity, and it seems like the Holts and us are making a tradition of it! This year there was a 1 1/2 hour wait just to start the tour, but it was worth it! With all the craziness of the holiday season, it’s a nice reminder of the real meaning of Christmas!

The Church’s volunteers did a great job narrating and acting out events surrounding Jesus’ birth from the Bible. Each scene we came upon was thoughtfully designed with murals and props representing its place of origin, and actors wearing the clothing of the time. There were even live animals to add to the authenticity of the whole experience.

Another reason we didn’t mind waiting was because they moved the long line into the warm chapel where we enjoyed live festive music. The festivities continued after the tour with more live music and refreshments that included cookies and candies, and hot chocolate or Christmas cider. It was a very nice evening, and we are already looking forward to doing it again next year!
