While the kids were visiting we took the babies to Cave Run Lake. It was Camila’s very first time swimming and she had a good time splashing around in the water, but she had just as much fun playing with her feet on the picnic blanket, under the shade of a big tree. Breck and Iris came to visit just over a week ago for Claire’s baby blessing. We appreciate them taking time out of their very busy schedule to drive such a long distance with a baby and dog. It was a joy celebrating Breck’s 27th birthday on his actual birthday this year! I attempted to make one of his favorite meals, Chicken Parmesan, for dinner. It turned out okay. It’s hard to believe that Camila is already five months old! We had a wonderful time with her in West Virginia, and we can’t wait to see her again in June for her cousin Claire’s baby blessing. Harpers Ferry, West Virginia We drove to the Salt Lake City airport right after Victor’s Internment in Bear River City, Utah. By the time we arrived home it was two in the morning on Saturday. Claire turned four months while we were out in Idaho. Her four-month birthday was actually the same day Victor passed away. It’s hard to believe that just four months earlier Victor was actually holding Claire, in the hospital, the day she was born. Even though she’ll never know her Great Grandpa Manwaring, I am grateful for those precious moments she was able to be with him before he passed away!
Twin Falls, Idaho Victor’s funeral was scheduled for a little over a week after his passing. After being gone for two weeks Aubrey needed to get back to her husband, and normal life, so I flew to Kentucky on the same flight as Aubrey to help her with Claire. Pleasant Grove, Utah The end of April, Aubrey, Claire, Brad and I took an impromptu trip to Utah/Idaho, due to Brad’s father Victor’s failing health.
